Setting the Order to Display Layers on the Canvas

Use this procedure to set the order to display layers on the canvas in Footprint Editor.

  1. On the status bar, click Layer Settings PanelLayer Settings. Alternatively, click View > Display >Layer Settings PanelLayer Settings on the Footprint Editor ribbon. The Layer Settings Panel is displayed.
  2. Right-click in the Layer Settings Panel, Layer View section. The assist menu is displayed.
  3. On the assist menu, select Canvas Display Order. The Canvas Display Order dialog is displayed. Layer names are listed in the dialog. The higher a layer name shown in the list, the more in the foreground the layer is displayed.
  4. In the Canvas display dialog, sort the layers in the desired order in the list. Multiple layer names can be selected.
  5. Click To top Top to move the selected layer to the top of the list.
  6. Click To upper level Up to move the selected layer one level higher.
  7. Click To lower level Down to move the selected layer one level lower.
  8. Click To bottomBottom to move the selected layer to the bottom of the list.
  1. Sort the layers in the desired display order, and click OK. The layers are displayed in the specified order on the canvas.

 

Note
The active layer is always displayed in the foreground, regardless of how the layer display order is configured.
