Checking Design Rules
The following procedures describe how to check the design rules that are set in the Rule Editor dialog.
When Creating a New Design Rule Library
The design rules for a new design rule library are checked when it is saved by clicking File > Save or File > Save Ason the ribbon. The design rules are saved, regardless of whether problems are discovered during the save process. Alternatively, click Check design rules in the Rule Editor dialog.
- If problems are discovered during the design rule check, error or warning messages are displayed.
- If no problems are discovered, a message is displayed that states that all design rules are correctly defined.
When Editing a Design Rule Library
Click Check design rules in the Rule Editor dialog to check the specified design rules. The design rules are also checked when you click OK or Apply in this dialog.
- If problems are discovered during the design rule check, error or warning messages are displayed.
- If no problems are discovered during the design rule check, a message is displayed that states that all design rules are correctly defined.
