Customizing the Quick Access Toolbar
The following procedures describe how to configure, export and import the settings for the
, and specify its position.Adding a Command
Add a command to the Quick Access Toolbar as follows.
- Right-click the Quick Access Toolbar or the ribbon, and select Customize Quick Access Toolbar (alternatively, select File > Configuration > Customize Quick Access Toolbar on the ribbon). The Quick Access Toolbar Settings dialog is displayed.
- In the Select command list, select the class of commands to display in the Command box.
- If necessary, filter the commands that are displayed in the Command box by entering a string in the Command filter box. See: Filtering Items in the Command list.
- In the Command
box, select a command to add to the and click
.
- The command is added below the currently-selected command in the Customize Quick Access Toolbar box.
- If a command is not selected in the Customize Quick Access Toolbar box, the added command is positioned at the bottom of the list of commands.
Setting the Order of Commands
Set the order of the commands in the

box, select a command and click - If required, click Reset to display the default commands in the default order.
Removing a Command
Remove a command from the

- You can also add a command to the Quick Access Toolbar by right-clicking it on the ribbon, and selecting Add to Quick Access Toolbar on the assist menu.
- You can also remove a command from the Quick Access Toolbar by right-clicking it on the Quick Access Toolbar, and selecting Remove from Quick Access Toolbar on the assist menu.
Changing the location of the
Change the location of the Quick Access Toolbar Settings dialog, select ShowQuick Access ToolbarBelow the Ribbon. When you click OK, the is moved below the ribbon.

- You can move the Quick Access Toolbar under the ribbon by selecting Show Below the Ribbon from the button at the right side of the Quick Access Toolbar. If the Quick Access Toolbar is located under the ribbon, select Show Above the Ribbon.
- You can also change the location of the from the assist menu that is brought up by right-clicking the .
Saving Quick Access Toolbar Settings
Save the current settings in the Quick Access Toolbar Settings dialog to a file, as follows. Applicable settings that you specify can be moved between different instances or versions of eCADSTAR, and between users.
- Click Save as in the Quick Access Toolbar Settings dialog. The Save as dialog is displayed.
- Specify a file name or accept the default, quickaccesstoolbar_custom.xml, and click Save in the dialog. The settings are saved to the file.
- Click OK.Your changes are applied and the dialog is closed.
Importing Quick Access Toolbar Settings
Load previously-exported
settings as follows.- In the Quick Access Toolbar Settings dialog, click Load. The Open dialog is displayed.
- In the Open dialog, double-click the exported .xml file. Alternatively, select it and click Open in the dialog. After removing duplicate items, the imported settings are merged with existing customizations. These settings are previewed in the dialog. Imported customizations are highlighted.
- Click OK to apply the previewed settings to the .
- Click Cancel to discard the previewed settings.
If you load commands that were exported from a different eCADSTAR application, and are not applicable to the current application, then they are made unavailable. Commands are also made unavailable that you load from a later release to one that does not support them.
