Select Layer

The Select Layer dialog allows you to select a layer of the appropriate type. Select a layer by clicking it and then clicking Apply. You can select multiple layers using the Ctrl or Shift keys. Alternatively, double-click the layer. The layer that you select is added to the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.

Value   Description
Board   Toggles the display of board layers in the Layer box. This button is only displayed if board layers are permitted in the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.
Conductor   Toggles the display of conductor layers in the Layer box. This button is only displayed if conductor layers are permitted in the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.
Non-Conductor   Toggles the display of non-conductor layers in the Layer box. This button is only displayed if non-conductor layers are permitted in the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.
User   Toggles the display of user-defined layers in the Layer box. This button is only displayed if user-defined layers are permitted in the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.
Layer type   If displayed, this field allows you to specify whether data layers, drawing layers and negative layers are displayed for the layer types that you select in the Select Layer dialog.
 

Data layer

  • Selected: data layers are displayed for the layer types that you select.
  • Not Selected: data layers are not displayed for the layer types that you select.
  Drawing layer
  • Selected: drawing layers are displayed for the layer types that you select.
  • Not Selected: drawing layers are not displayed for the layer types that you select.
  Negative Layer
  • Selected: if Conductor is selected, then negative layers are listed for each conductor layer, regardless of whether the negative layers exist in the design.
  • Not Selected: negative layers are not displayed for conductor layers.
Filter   Allows you to filter the layers that are displayed in the Layer box by entering a value. Layers are displayed that contain the specified value. The value that you enter is not case-sensitive.
Layer box   Layers are displayed of the appropriate type. If you specify a value in the Filter box, then only layers are displayed that contain the specified value. Select a layer by clicking it, and then clicking Apply. Select multiple layers using the Ctrl or Shift keys. Alternatively, double-click a layer to select it. The selected layer is added to the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.
Apply/OK   Adds the layer that you select in the Layer box to the dialog from which the Select Layer dialog was launched.
Close/Cancel   Closes the Select Layer dialog.
