New

The New command allows you to create a new schematic design, specify its location and set the properties of the associated sheet. It is accessed by clicking File > New on the eCADSTAR Schematic Editor ribbon.

Design Name

 

Specify the name of the new design.

Design Location

 

Specify the location of the new design by typing it in the Design Location box, or by clicking and selecting a folder in the displayed Select Folder dialog.

 

Displays the Design Location dialog. Select a folder and click Select Folder in the displayed dialog to specify the location of the new design. The path to new design is displayed in the Design Location box.

Copy Template Design

 

Allows you to set the properties of the sheet that are associated with the design by either specifying a template design, or setting the properties in the Sheet Settings dialog.

  • If selected: specify the template design that is referenced when the new design is created. Type its location and file name in the Template Design box, or click and browse to the file. The Property Settings button is made unavailable.
  • If not selected: an empty Design Library is created. Specify the properties of the sheet that are associated with the new design by clicking Property Settings. The Template Design box and button are made unavailable.

 

Template Design box

Type the path to the template design file that is referenced.

 

Click and browse to the required template design file in the Open dialog. The path to the selected file is shown in the Template Design box.

Sheet Settings

 

Displays the Sheet Settings dialog. This allows you to specify the properties of the sheets that are associated with the new design.

OK

 

Creates the new design and closes the New dialog

Cancel

 

Closes the New dialog without creating a new design.
