The following procedures describe how to select objects on the canvas or from the tree view in Mechanical Object Organizer.
Selecting a Hidden Object from the Canvas

Selecting from the Canvas
An object can be selected by clicking it on the canvas, as follows.
- Move the pointer to an object on the canvas. If objects are at the pointer position, then the object to be selected is highlighted (selected and previewed).
Selecting and Previewing Another Object at the Cursor Position
- If there are multiple objects at the same cursor position, then press the X key to preview the next candidate (Select Preview Next).
Selecting Another Object at the Clicked Position
- If there are multiple objects at the same cursor position, then press the N key to switch to the next candidate (Next).
- Press the N key while holding down the Shift key to switch to the previous candidate (Previous).
- Click the object that you want to select, while it is highlighted.
- To select multiple objects, hold down the Shift or Ctrl key and click the target objects individually.
- Components included in the design data cannot be selected.
- If two or more objects are selected, then the Next and Previous functions are not available.
Selecting a Hidden Object on the Canvas
An object that is hidden behind other objects can be selected by clicking it on the canvas. This procedure is described below.
- Move the cursor to a hidden object on the canvas. The uppermost object is selected and previewed.
- Press the X key to execute Preview Next. This selects and previews the target object.
- Click the object that you want to select while it is highlighted.
Selecting from the Tree View
An object can be selected by clicking the item in the tree view, as follows.
- Click an item in the tree view of the navigation panel to select it.
- Select multiple objects using one of the following methods:
- Click and drag the cursor to select multiple items.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and click the target items individually.
- Hold down the Shift key, and specify a range of items.
Deselecting Individual Selected Objects
Deselect individual objects using one of the following methods.
- On the canvas, hold down the Shift or Ctrl key and click an object to deselect it.
- In the tree view, hold down the Ctrl key, and click an object to deselect it.
Deselecting all Selected Objects
Deselect all objects using one of the following methods.
- On the canvas, click a location where no object exists.
- In the tree view, click a location where no item exists.
