Cut Land

The Cut Land command allows you to cut lands using the clearance rules specified in the Rule Editor dialog, Tracks tab and Rule Editor dialog, Conductor Clearance tab, as well as the values specified in this dialog. It also allows you to reset a cut land to the library shape; see: Cutting a Land. The Cut Land dialog is displayed by clicking Padstack > Pad/Padstack > Cut Land on the ribbon. This command is only available in 2D View mode.

Note
Annulus padstacks can be cut only if the following requirements are met. If either requirements is not met, then the annulus padstack is not cut and an error message is displayed.

The origin of the pad must be within the remaining copper pad shape after the land is cut. The default position for the origin of a pad is the middle of the annulus hole.
The external diameter of the annulus must be over twice its internal diameter.

For example, an annulus pad shape that has an outer diameter of 6.5mm and an internal diameter of 3.25mm cannot be cut using this command. However, if it has an outer diameter of 6.5mm and an internal diameter of 3.24998mm then it can be cut.

Reset

Resets the cut land to the shape in the library.

Cut target

The Cut target group is displayed when Cut is selected in the Execution mode group. Specify the target that is cut for through hole pins, surface mount pins, and vias and pads.

Through hole pin

OFF	The target is not cut.

Target layer

Value	Description
All layers	For an object that you select on the canvas, the specified clearance values are checked on all layers. If a clearance value is not met, then the land is cut appropriately for the relevant layer.
Visible layer	For an object that you select on the canvas, the specified clearance values are checked on all visible layers. If a clearance value is not met, then the land is cut appropriately for the relevant layer.

Resist - Keepout figure/Layout area

Value	Description
Real number equal to or greater than 0.	Specify the gap between a resist and a keepout object or layout area.

Area Fill Pen width

Value	Description
Real number equal to or greater than 0.	Set the pen width of the area fill that is generated.

Reset target

The Reset target group is displayed when Reset is selected in the Execution mode group. Specify a target that is reset for through hole pins, surface mount pins, and vias and pads.

Through hole pin

Value	Description
ON	The target is reset.
OFF	The target is not reset.

Layer

Value	Description
Conductor + Resist	Resets conductor and resist lands. A resist land is only reset when a conductor land is reset.
