Copy Part

Allows you to copy a part that you select in the Library Editor Panel: Parts Tab. Parts can be copied either within a library, or between different Libraries. This command is made available when the Part tab is selected in eCADSTAR Library Editor. Execute this command by selecting a part and then clicking Home > Copy > Part on the ribbon. Alternatively, select Copy Part on the assist menu.

Paste the copied part in the Parts table by selecting Paste on the assist menu, or by clicking Home > Clipboard > Paste on the ribbon. By default, it is pasted below the original. You can also specify its position in the table by clicking the required row before pasting it. This command is made available only when the  Library Editor Panel: Parts Tab is selected.

  • "Copy" is appended to the copied part. Subsequent copies are appended with "Copy[n]".
  • You can copy multiple parts by selecting them using the Ctrl or Shift keys, or by dragging the cursor.
  • You can delete rows in the Parts table by selecting Delete Row on the assist menu.
  • Copied parts are colored blue until you save the library.
  • You can copy a locked part that is open in the Part Editor Panel. However, you cannot copy a part in the Library Editor Panel: Parts Tab that has unsaved changes.
