Component Area (Polygon)
The Component Area (Polygon)
command allows you to create a component area for a footprint. In 3D View mode, the component area is displayed
as a filled shape, in order to help you place the part on the board. As
this might obscure the 3D model that is associated with the footprint,
you can change the visibility of the component area by adjusting the view
style settings for the associated layer. You can also specify the standoff
height and maximum height of the component area in the Height
(Standoff - Maximum) field. This command is only available
in 2D View mode.
