Selecting Components

The following procedure describes how to select components on the board that meet the filter conditions that you specify.

  1. Toggle on the display of the Component Selector panel by clicking Component Selector PanelComponent Selector on the status bar. Alternatively, click View >Display > Component Selector Panel Component Selector on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor ribbon. Components on the board are shown in the Reference Designatorlist box.
  2. Click a component in the Reference Designatorlist to highlight and zoom in to it on the canvas. Previously-selected components are deselected.
  3. In the Component Selector panel , Reference Designator list section, click Cross Probing Settings. The Cross Probe section in the Design Settings dialog is displayed. For a selected component, this section allows you to specify its position and size on the canvas.
  4. If you select Move on selection in the Reference Designator list section, then the Move dialog is displayed when you click a component in the Reference Designator list section.
  5. Filter the components in the Reference Designator list by specifying conditions.
  6. You can save the specified filter conditions by clicking Add in the Component Selector panel, and entering a name and description in the displayed Add dialog.
  7. You can restore the default filter conditions by selecting "---" in the Condition name box.
