Selecting Components
The following procedure describes how to select components on the board that meet the filter conditions that you specify.
- Toggle on the display of the Component
Selector panel by clicking
Component Selector on the status bar. Alternatively, click View >Display >
Component Selector on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor ribbon. Components on the board are shown in the Reference Designatorlist box.
- Click a component in the Reference Designatorlist to highlight and zoom in to it on the canvas. Previously-selected components are deselected.
- In the Component Selector panel , Reference Designator list section, click Cross Probing Settings. The Cross Probe section in the Design Settings dialog is displayed. For a selected component, this section allows you to specify its position and size on the canvas.
- If you select Move on selection in the Reference Designator list section, then the Move dialog is displayed when you click a component in the Reference Designator list section.
- Filter the components in the Reference Designator list by specifying conditions.
- You can save the specified filter conditions by clicking Add in the Component Selector panel, and entering a name and description in the displayed Add dialog.
- You can restore the default filter conditions by selecting "---" in the Condition name box.
