Net Keepout Settings

The Net Keepout Settings dialog allows you to specify the nets that are permitted within an area fill that you select on a user-defined keepout layer. By default, all nets are prohibited. This dialog is displayed as follows.

  1. In the Layer Settings Panel, set a user-defined keepout layer as the active layer.
  2. Create an area fill on the canvas using the Area Fill (Polygon), Area Fill (Rectangle) or Area Fill (Circle) command.
  3. Exit the relevant command.
  4. In the Properties Panel, Net keepout settings row, click in the Value column. The Net Keepout Settings dialog is displayed. If you specify nets in this dialog by adding them to the Allowed nets box, then Set is displayed in the Net keepout settings row in the Properties Panel, Value column.

Note
  • You can specify prohibited nets and allowed nets for multiple area fills on a keepout layer. Select the area fills on the canvas, and then click in the Net keepout settings row to display the Net Keepout Settings dialog.
  • A track keepout area restricts the use of any surface mount conductor object. This includes the following objects.
  • Pad/Padstacks
  • Route/Line
  • Area
  • Text
  • The only conductor objects that are not considered by track keepout areas are plated through holes (vias or padstacks). You can configure track keepout areas in this dialog. This allows you to specify the nets that are permitted in the relevant area.
