Editing Design Rules

The following procedure describes how to edit and check the design rules for an open design in eCADSTAR PCB Editor. In 2D View mode, click Home > Design Rules > Rule Editor on the ribbon. Alternatively, click Design > Design Rules > Rule Editor. The Rule Editor dialog is displayed.

1. Edit the design rules using the tabs in the Rule Editor dialog.
2. Check the specified design rules by clicking Check design rules in the lower-left corner of the Rule Editor dialog. If problems are discovered during the check, error or warning messages are displayed.
3. Reconfigure the design rules by following the instructions in the error or warning messages.
4. Click OK or Apply in the Rule Editor dialog to save your changes. The design rules are checked automatically when they are saved.
