Chamfering the Corners of an Object

The following procedure describes how to chamfer the corners of an object using the Chamfer command.

Starting the command with objects selected

  1. Select an object or multiple objects on the canvas.
  2. On the ribbon, click Shape > Reshape > Chamfer.
  3. In the Chamfer dialog, set values for Maximum cut and Minimum cut and click Apply. The corners of selected objects are chamfered.
  4. If you change either of these values, re-select the object or click Apply in the Chamfer dialog.

Starting the command before selecting objects

  1. On the ribbon, click Shape > Reshape > Chamfer.
  2. In the command dialog, set values for Maximum cut and Minimum cut.
  3. Select an object or multiple objects on the canvas. The corners of selected objects are chamfered.
  4. If you change either of these values, re-select the object or click Apply in the Chamfer dialog.

Target objects

The following are valid target objects:

  • Line
  • Area fill / Area / Meshplane

Note
  • If online DRC is enabled, lines on conductor layers are not chamfered if this would cause online DRC errors.
  • A vertex or tangent arc is only chamfered if the angle between segments meeting at the vertex is 90 degrees.
