Editing Object Shapes
The following procedure describes how to edit lines, areas or segments in an area, or sections using the Reshape command in eCADSTAR PCB Editor. This allows you to change the shape of an object. This command is only available in 2D View mode.
- Use either of the following methods to start the Reshape command.
Starting the Command with Objects Selected
On the canvas,
select an object that you want to edit, and click Reshape on the assist menu. Alternatively, click Shape > Reshape >
Reshape on the
ribbon. You can also press Shift+R on the keyboard. The Reshape
dialog is displayed.
- If a section to be edited is already selected, then a flag mark is displayed at the start point of the section, and a new figure can be drawn.
- If a section to be edited is not already selected, then specify two points for the section.
Selecting an Object after the Command is Started
- On the
ribbon, click Shape > Reshape >
Reshape. The Reshape dialog is displayed.
- Select an object to edit on the canvas, and specify two points for the section that you want to edit. A flag mark is displayed at the start point of that section, and a new figure can be drawn.
- Specify the required shape of the object by clicking the positions of its vertices on the canvas.
- To accept your changes, click Finish on the assist menu or click the end point of the relevant section. Alternatively, press the Spacebar. The Reshape command remains toggled on.
- When editing the shape of an object, you can insert an arc by selecting Insert Arc on the assist menu.
- To set a flag mark partially along a section, press the Shift key and click the required position.
- If you specify a value for Angle lock in the Reshape dialog, then a circular mark is displayed when the cursor position satisfies the specified angle, or multiples of it.
