Swapping Pins

The following procedure describes how to swap two pins.

Note
When manual routing in the 45-degree or 90-degree modes, automatic pin swapping is limited to 2 pin passive components only. For any part other than a 2 pin passive part, use the Swap Pins or Swap Gates command to swap the pins or gates.

  1. Start the Swap Pins command using one of the following methods. This command is only available in 2D View mode.

Starting the Command with Objects Selected

After selecting two pins to be swapped, click Net / Route > Net > Swap Pins Swap Pins on the ribbon. The pins are swapped.

Starting the Command Before Selecting Objects

On the ribbon, click Net / Route > Net > Swap Pins Swap Pins.

  1. On the canvas, select a single pin for swapping. Pins that can be swapped are identified by flags.
  2. Select a pin that is identified by a flag. The pin is swapped.

Target objects

Pins that satisfy both of the following conditions:

Condition 1. One of the following conditions must be satisfied:

  • The pins are for the same gate.
  • Dual-pin components without logic polarity of part.
  • The components are a symbol. For symbols, pins can be swapped for each pin combination in which gates can be swapped.

Condition 2. An attribute to disallow pin swap is not enabled for the gate pins.
