Duplicate (Layer)
The Duplicate (Layer) command allows you to copy an object that you select on the canvas to other layers. Multiple objects can be selected using the Ctrl key. Multiple layers, including the active layer, can be specified in the displayed Copy To dialog. To execute this command, click Home >Duplicate> Layer on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor dialog, and then select an object to copy on the canvas. Alternatively, select an object to copy on the canvas, and then click Home >Duplicate> Layer on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor dialog. This command is only available in 2D View mode.

This section allows you to specify whether net information is kept when an object is copied.
Keep net
Value | Description |
---|---|
ON | If selected, all net information is kept when the object is copied. |
OFF | If selected, no net information is kept when the object is copied. |
Reference (Non-electrical)
This section allows you to specify the reference designators for non-electrical footprints that you duplicate.
Prefix
Value | Description |

Alphanumeric string | For a non-electrical footprint that you duplicate, specify the prefix of the reference designator. If you create multiple duplicates, the specified value is used for all duplicate prefixes. |
Start suffix
Value | Description |
---|---|
Natural number (for example: 0, 1, 2, 3) | For a non-electrical footprint that you duplicate, specify the suffix of the reference designator. This value is appended to the Prefix value that you specify. If you create multiple duplicates, the specified value is incremented by one for each duplicate. |

Apply | Saves the settings that you specify in the Duplicate (Layer) dialog, and displays the Copy To dialog. If you do not select an object on the canvas, then this button is made unavailable. |
Exit | Closes the Duplicate (Layer) dialog without copying objects to other layers. |
