Delete
The Delete command
allows you to delete an object on the canvas in eCADSTAR PCB Editor.
If you delete a signal, an associated shield can also be deleted using
this command. Select an object on the canvas, and then click Delete
on the keyboard or select Delete on the
assist menu. Alternatively, select Home >
Clipboard >
Delete on the eCADSTAR PCB Editor
ribbon.

This command cannot be used with variant components.

| Shield control | When deleting a signal that has an associated shield, this setting allows you to specify whether the associated shield is also deleted. | |
| ON | If a shield is associated with a signal that you select on the canvas, then the shield is deleted, as well as the signal. If a segment of a signal is deleted, then the shields that are associated with the remaining segments are regenerated. Click Settings in the Delete dialog to configure the shielding settings for a design. | |
| OFF | If a track that you select on the canvas has an associated shield, the shield is not deleted. | |
| Settings | Allows you to specify shielding settings for a design, in the Design Settings dialog, Shielding section. | |
| Thermal removed with area | When you delete a flooded area, this setting allows you to specify whether any thermal tracks connected to it are also deleted. Thermal tracks are used to create thermal connections to vias, pads and pins. | |
| ON | When you delete a flooded area, any thermal tracks connected to it are also deleted. | |
| OFF | When you delete a flooded area, any thermal tracks connected to it are not deleted. |
