Pad Suppression and Default Thermal Size
This page allows you to set up the default size for thermal relief dimensions, and to specify whether inner layer pads are suppressed or unsuppressed.
This page of the CADSTAR Migration Mapping dialog is referenced by eCADSTAR when migrating Library data.
Thermal relief dimensions are applied to inner layers of all through hole padstacks within the migrated Library. The Pad Suppression setting will be applied to the inner layers of all through hole padstacks within the migrated Library. To ensure the migrated library contains pad shapes for unsuppressed and suppressed inner layers, a post migration task is required. This ensures that they are contained in the single Master Library of eCADSTAR. See: Finalizing the Padstack "Inner Suppressed" update.
Thermal pad shape sizes are calculated differently between a library migration and a design migration. Thermal shapes for a library migration are calculated using this mapping file control, but design migration uses the default thermal information in the design.
Setting Defaults
- With the Defaults page of the mapping dialog displayed, confirm the default thermal settings and Pad Suppression status for Library data migration.
- Set the Clearance and Relief width by editing the content of the cells.
- Select the Suppress unconnected pads on inner layers the check box. If suppression of unconnected inner layer pads is required, then deselect the Suppress unconnected pads on inner layers option. Selecting this option will suppress the unconnected pad shape on all inner layers.
- Click Apply to save the changes and keep the mapping dialog open. Alternatively, click OK to save the changes and close the mapping dialog.
